In the early to mid-1970’s, Sonya Rapoport experimented with her “Nu-Shu” language of feminist stencils as well as motifs adopted from her “Survey Chart” drawings to create large scale paintings. These works were primarily rendered with air brush, which was well-suited to the use of stencils.
